Refining & Defining
April 1st through April 7th
You can enhance your understanding by applying the Houses these signs and Planets are falling into in your Natal Chart. I am happy to help you with figuring that out, at no cost to you— just shoot me an email!!
Mars moved into Pisces last Week: On March 22nd Mars moved into Pisces bringing the planet of heat and assertion to a place of ambiguity, coolness, and intuition. Pisces cannot be contained as its essence sublimates into gas form to sneak through any crack or crevice. Pisces is also sensitive and is prone to avoid responsibility. So action becomes harder to direct. There may be friendly fire or misfire as assertion is harder to contain. Mars will also join Saturn in Pisces which will slow Mars down even more, as well as create an environment of swifter consequence to our actions. Lead with intuition, grace, and humanity.
Venus conjunct Neptune: Venus joining Neptune joins the individual and generation keepers of humanity and harmony, as well as planets of passive strategy, artistic inspiration, and indulgence. As this resets the Venus-Neptune cycle this is a great week to be intent toward aesthetic principles, how we choose to approach others, and how we manifest from spirit. This opens up the center of creative-sexual energy which can allow for more purity or toxicity. So be intent about what you allow into your physical, spiritual, emotional, mental space. They say you are what you eat; let’s say, what you ingest. With Mars and Saturn both present in Pisces this will create an intensity around desire and connection. Mars and Saturn are the Malefics so be prepared to protect your inner sanctuary.
Mars conjunct Saturn: This Aspect will not be perfect until next week, but brings together the functions of short-term and long-term goals. It brings together our calling and our purpose. This will be a good time to review how well these two facets of our lives are interacting. The birth chart can clearly show how well you are able to blend these two functions. It is based on whether your Natal Mars and Saturn are making good connections. By aspect or rulership. This conjunction has Mars engorge Saturn's need to create long term success and stability, thus creating a need to review how our steps guide us toward the ultimate destination.
Venus enters Aries: The Night of April 4th Venus will enter Aries where it is considered “debilitated”. Venus functions poorly in Aries as it is a planet of appreciation, planning, diplomacy, and consideration while Aries provide characteristics of boldness, courage, decisiveness, and contesting. These debilitations can be applied to really invigorate the planet. Venus will be in Aries till April 28th and we can use this time to invigorate our strategic mind. To be brave in diplomatic strategy. To apply our unique nature toward being appealing or making appeals. The Aries house in our chart is given a chance to make connections and hopefully receive some blessings.
Mars Sextile Jupiter: This aspect gives an opportunity this week to apply Mars’ heat, directionality, and decisiveness toward growth and expansion.
Mercury goes Retrograde: From April 1st to the 25th Mercury will be Retrograde. During the Mercury retrograde the repetitive and habitual patterns of our lives are blurred for the motion function, but not from your memory. We go for those repetitive tasks, but make mistakes. Driving the same roads, having the same conversations, doing the same tasks. The motion function doesn’t engage as instinctually during this time. So be present and in your body. Lead with more emotional intuition. Be prepared to do things differently and relinquish control over timing and process. Let yourself be guided and be present while doing so. Drive like it’s your road test.
April 8th Eclipse: Chiron, the wounded healer, directly with the Sun and the Moon during the exact hours of the Eclipse. Mercury retrograde in the same sign of Aries. Venus is present in its debilitated status. Total Solar Eclipse. Then Mars, which rules Aries and thus supports the function of Aries characteristics, is in Pisces where, as I said, it is blurry and passive. This Eclipse has crazy and weird energy. The problems that arise likely don’t come out of nowhere. This eclipse may have us saying “I can’t believe I didn’t see that coming”. The Aries lesson is about the courage to be ourselves and claim our space while maintaining strategic moves and preserving good relationships. Whichever houses we have Aries-Libra will be key in understanding what area of life you will experience this Eclipse in. It will be facilitated with the Lessons of Aries-Libra, which is the balance between “I” & “we”, battle & diplomacy, claiming versus coercing.
*The date ranges reflect the Moon being a majority in the given sign during a 5am-11pm EST range.
The Moon in Capricorn Apr 1-2: This Moon can give hints as to what may come up during the Eclipse as it will be the last Major Moon phase before the New Moon Eclipse. This Moon is colder and more stoic. This Moon does not support as much tenderness as the Moon prefers to, so these days are good for tasks and decisions which require emotions to get out of the way. These are great days for Spring Cleaning.
The Moon in Aquarius Apr 3-4: Connecting to what makes us special. This Moon is also more stoic, but has more eccentricity. This Moon is good for more mental Spring Cleaning and invoking truth to self.
The Moon in Pisces Apr 5-6: Always a tender time, and in this case the Moon will meet Mars. Moon-Mars connections can breed inflammation; physical or emotional. This Moon may feel heavy and more stressful, so take advantage of the previous Moons to do the work of cleansing and releasing. Watch out for unseen enemies. Things like those that talk behind our backs or mold hiding under the kitchen sink.
The Moon Aries Apr 7-8: The Eclipse of course occurs. Aries Moons can also be inflammatory. The emotional body will invoke more sharply and allow the emotional/egoic nature to lead us. This Moon will engage us with whatever energy was picked up during the Moon in Pisces.
The energy of this week is painted by the transition from the last signs of Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces into the first signs of Aries and Taurus. The dawning of a new age and how we are in control of what we bring with us into that place. The retrograde stirs up our patterns to show us where the dust has settled. Mars in Pisces will stir up problems in some hidden places. The Eclipse will expose the wounds around self-esteem. As the title says, Refining & Defining, in that order. Be accountable for yourself, what you are holding onto, and what is actually in your control.
