Effigy of Me

Jan 20 through Feb 02

You can enhance your understanding by applying the Houses these signs and Planets are falling into in your Natal Chart. I am happy to help you with figuring that out, at no cost to you— just shoot me an email!!

I have added the House Significations Wheel at the bottom to aid in checking your relevant Houses. If you know your Rising Sign, make that the First House (1) and then each subsequent sign takes the next House. Cancer Rising has Cancer 1st House, Leo 2nd House, Virgo 3rd House and so on.

From earlier this month:

Nodal Shift: The Eclipse Points entered Virgo and Pisces on January 11. The North and South Nodes are where the orbits of the Sun and Moon intersect at a given time; they are always exactly opposite to each other in opposite signs and houses. The South Node is called the Dragon’s Tail and it is where we can feel compelled to escape into or show apathy within. The North Node is called the Dragon’s Head and it is where we are focusing or increasing a presence and effort. These are incredibly life changing transitions as a level of psychological focus transitions to another set of opposite signs and houses.

Those with major Mutable Placements [Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces] will be most greatly affected as the Eclipses are going to cause major disruptions and transformative events regarding these Major parts of our psyche and the areas of life (Houses) that these placements inhabit. The Eclipses will be during/around Pisces and Virgo Season when the Sun is near these eclipse points.

Look to your Pisces House, where the North Node has entered, where you will experience a subtle and powerful hunger to transform this house to unlock your true desires in this area. Look to your Virgo House where you may relinquish illusions of control in order to allow for this development in the Pisces House. Meditate on these House matters and how they are either held back or resonating inauthentically.

Saturn Square Jupiter: The expansion in our Gemini house contests with the solidifying of our Pisces house. On December 21, 2020 we had the Saturn Jupiter conjunction. This Square is the First Quarter Phase of this planetary alignment. The sprouting of seeds started in Dec 2020 is followed up with problem solving now. If you were gardening it would be like in July when you are at steps like ensuring the seedlings stand to survive to harvest; maintaining Tomato trestle structures or looking for early signs of powdery mildew.  We had the first square on August 19th, 2024, when Jupiter moved through Gemini. In Jupiter's Retrogradation, we saw this aspect perfect on December 24th, 2024. We will see the final Saturn Square Jupiter on June 15th, 2025.

As this week progresses Mercury will enter Aquarius, and as the ruler of Gemini, Mercury’s movement will shift the nature of Jupiter in Gemini. The expansion of our Gemini house whose nature is objective and carefree will be able to actualize itself within the inventive approach of Aquarius. Jupiter and Mercury will both be in air signs which will provide more harmony between them. This Aquarius energy can better allow Jupiter in Gemini to utilize an objective, open-minded, and social value set. We will go more into Mercury in Aquarius later on.

On the Transit: Reflect on the relationship between your growth and your longevity. Growth demands we enter into novel arenas, and longevity demands will reinforce existing arenas. How are these two parts of life showing conflict? How do they require problem solving and reconciliation? Again, this should be relevant to things that began in December 2020.

The Gemini house is expressed as the teacher/student, the speaker/listener; through communication, channeling, and learning. It is objective, and we are expanding here. We are exploring different perspectives with an objective view. We are allowing ourselves to be aware we are wearing a mask. Check the relevant [Gemini] house. The Pisces House is expressed as a healer/victim/sick or the artist/artistic observer. The Pisces expression can require solitude, spirituality, or shows signs of escapism or substance use. This Pisces House is experiencing solidification, obstacles, and structure. Check that house as well.

How are responsibilities to our emotional healing causing delays or obstructions ? Or is channeled artistic expression conflicting with our search for new knowledge and experience through communication and/or learning? As Jupiter rules Pisces what we are discovering is how adopting specific attitudes toward growth despite their can help us resist falling into the need to escape life’s realities. We create our own reality, so why should we have to escape?

Venus conjunct Saturn: This aspect peaked early on January 19th and will now gradually fade in its influence.

The longevity of our relationships. The serious and practical decisions regarding our aesthetic choices. Limits and structures around joy and comfort. Relationships and the function of relating are having a serious check in and renewal which will step into that newness upon the exact conjunction on the 19th. We may clean out our closets metaphorically and literally. Getting rid of clothes or reassessing our styles with a pragmatic eye. We should take stock of the body and any disharmony being experienced. There could be a health issue that comes up for some and touching base with your inner homeostasis will be good in the renewal. There will also be some limiting, obstructing, or overall problems around finances and assets.

This all occurs in the Pisces House, so look to that area to assess what basis these possibilities will revolve around. Humanity, healing, escapism, feeling trapped, spirituality, magick, universal love, creativity, and the unseen all become themes in which these events can actualize themselves.

Sun Enters Aquarius: The Sun entered Aquarius on January 19th. We enter the “dead” of winter where the Sun is in detriment. Aquarius is a sign of social equity, analysis, and progression. The masculine solar identity of the Sun does not flourish under these conditions. The Sun wants to lead, create, and impact but analysis will sew doubt. The energy of the Sun in Aquarius is to lead entire groups, communities, or societies. To consider all handicaps, new ideas, and potential new markets with an inkling for longevity given Saturn’s rulership over the sign. During this period, till February 18th, these Aquarius values and patterns are pronounced through our Aquarius House.

Sun Conjunct Pluto: The Sun will have been in an “Out-of-sign'“ conjunction with Pluto days before it enters Aquarius. What happens when the Sun moves into the same sign as Pluto is that the aspect becomes much clearer in the energetic signature. Then the Sun will be in this aspect for about 10 more days.

This will be one of several planetary cycle renewal’s, where two planets go into the equivalent of a New Moon phase, resetting the principles of their relationship. This aspect relates to how the masculine leads through long-term power and influence. This aspect is closely tied with sexual energy, domination, and the Kingly power. These Pluto aspects bring both exposing and concealing. This year this aspect peaks the morning after Trump officially takes office, coloring the movement as a reset to masculine power. Trump is a perfect example of an honest depiction of a powerful American man. So this aspect is best described by the official reset of the most powerful seat in America being filled by a fully exposed version of the image of masculinity in America. Imagine the respectable version of an ideal American man, like maybe Jimmy Carter, who passed during the closing of this aspect.

Reflect on your masculinity and intend for the best version possible to exude from your being.

Mercury Opposite Mars: This Aspect will perfect January 23, but will already have a strong presence at the beginning of this week. This aspect is characterized by sharp tongues, sudden speech, and quick hands. We will experience quick reactions from the messages coming towards us. It’s easier to trigger and be triggered. This of course can create discourse, but also wit and productivity; especially by way of co-operation. Mars in retrograde does diminish the outward expression of Mars, thus communication is more likely to cause internal stirring in one another. The kind of stirring that might help us flesh out the logistics of how we are reconsidering our goals. By the 27th the aspect is gone.

Mercury Enters Aquarius: The God of swiftness enters Aquarius the night of January 27th EST. The thinking mind will follow the Sun into this sign to boost the collective focus on Aquarian values. Equity, invention, progression, and exploring new markets. The logical processing of the mind urges toward considering the downtrodden, breaking out of outdated routines, and increased nervous energy. Mercury will be in Aquarius until February 14th.

Mercury Conjunct Pluto: This aspect perfects on January 29th. This aspect speaks to the alignment between messaging and thinking with the deep psyche, the taboo, and long-term self-preservation tactics. The logical mind will be directly connected to that which we keep hidden; we will not necessarily become more aware of the hidden psyche, but certainly are more influenced by it through our thoughts. Thoughts of horror, sex, power, or destruction. Thoughts of logistical utopia’s. We may feel inclined to purge and clean up our routines, and our spaces in order to clean up the mind. They say the dwelling is a reflection of the mind and a good cleaning here will really help you lean into decluttering the psyche. Be prepared to let out some nervous energy.

New Moon in Aquarius: This period of renewal and intention will peak on January 29th at 7:35 AM EST. The Mind and Body attune in the Aquarius house, where we try to reconcile authentic expression with logical analysis. It is tough to be yourself is an area where you’ve been emasculated for it. So this is a time to do some inner child work and meet your unique self with love and validation. You allow analysis not to diminish the joy that comes from your own desire to express yourself. Allow the joy that leads you to work with your vision for a better world, rather than in fear of its judgement.

Uranus Stations Direct: The planet of awakening ends its annual retrograde on January 30th. The collective process toward cerebral awakening continues forward. In Taurus we have the basis for worth and value, and liberating those definitions. We will continue to see these themes like cryptocurrency being adapted in society. Disruptions from Earth and climate.

Venus Conjunct Neptune: This aspect begins on January 20th, and will peak on February 1st. This planetary cycle resets, thus we have renewed and intentioned for the relevant associations. Venus is considered to be the lower resonance of Neptune. They both have associations with art, harmony, love, and beauty. In this case, Venus is love where Neptune is Universal Love. Venus tells us about our artistic aesthetics, Neptune tells us about our generation’s emotional journey and how we will be inspired creatively through spiritual and emotional growth. So in this case, our personal and short-term path toward physiological harmony, artistic inspiration, spirituality, and loving exchange realigns with the long-term path towards these same kinds of subjects.

This could be an increasingly tender set of days leading up to the conjunction, and for a couple days after—depending on the person. This occurs in Pisces, a sign in which Neptune is considered at home/strong and Venus is exalted/strong. The Moon will be present, and so will Saturn. So we will have the feeling of authority and responsibility limiting us while the emotional experience is visceral, and we’ve recently had the North Node enter this area, beginning an unconscious drive toward deep desire.

This will require a clear connection with the spirit and strong self-love in order to tap into this transit in the best way possible. What might hold you back from being able to appreciate everything? What gets you aroused? Where does seeking joy turn into escapism? There is a theme of purifying here in order to get through to an honest version of ourselves.

*The date ranges reflect the Moon being a majority in the given sign during a 5am-11:59pm EST range. Moon Signs naturally set each other up for a successful procession through life's subtle developments. The Moon functions as a catalyst and distributor of the energies from the other Celestial bodies. You might take an extra note of when the Moon is entering important Houses in your Chart, like your First House/Rising Sign when you will be closely connected with your emotions.

Moon in Libra - Jan 20-21: These Moons support connecting and appreciating. They can incline towards indulgence. The emotional center prefers balance and avoids conflict.

Moon in Scorpio - Jan 21-23: Emotions feel more clear to us as a subtle intensity is drawn up. This can be a good set of days for what feels like a hunt or search. Also, making a purchase or releasing something. Emotions can be sharper and it can be a good time for internal work too.

Moon in Sagittarius - Jan 24-26: The Lunar center prefers for uplifting and exploratory measures for the sake of stimulation. These days are good for expelling some energy.

Moon in Capricorn - Jan 26-28: The Moon’s detriment where emotions are colder. Sometimes this inclines for escapism from tough emotions rather than for the sake of indulgence. This Moon will be opposite Mars and we could see some emotional conflict, especially in the later half of these days.

Moon in Aquarius - Jan 28-30: These Moons can also be cold, but are more-so objective. We feel more emotional compulsion toward authenticity and standing out, which will draw out projections from the insecure and boldness from everyone else.

Moon in Pisces - Jan 30-Feb 01: This Moon will draw out the sophisticated energetic environment of Venus, Saturn, and Neptune together in Pisces with the North node. Pisces moons are characterized by heightened sensitivity and vulnerability. These can be good days to be mindful of what you let into your energetic sphere, and to be aware of all the subtle influences and intuitions.

Moon in Aries- Feb 01-02: Aries Moons persist urgency and impulsivity from the emotional center. With Mars in Cancer, this volatility is exasperated.

These signs of Aquarius and Pisces. We have several New Moon phase planetary cycles occurring within them. Mercury-Pluto, Sun-Moon, Sun-Pluto Venus Neptune. We just had Venus-Saturn have a New Moon phase in Pisces. These are idealizing signs which seek to improve the world through scientific, artistic, spiritual, and socio-political means. Though their work is never done, as the utopia does not exist. In fact, utopia is derived from Greek roots from the Greek words for “not” and “place”.

So, in order to improve society we must analyze the society and make improvements. The quick problem is that this diminishes any excitement about life and will send us down routes of escapism and despair. That is a good assessment of where a lot of Americans are at right now. Picturing a better world based on their subjective experiences and knowledge, followed by hopelessness.

We must know who we are and where we fit in this story. Serving our purpose in order to both improve the world and retain our fire to bother trying. This requires self-love and the instinct to love the inner child.

This week presents a lot of Outer Planets in contact with personal planets. So we have some important check-ins to make with ourselves and as a society. Figuring out our own projections is incredibly difficult. It is a puzzle to organize the observation of our own behaviors even without trying to avoid being self-deluded. This week it’s helpful to try to be objective about what you want from the situation. So allow your emotions to come through, feel and process them—then with a warrior’s mind in honest self-observance, make the right decisions for your life.

Can you allow yourself to be with your inner child with flowing emotions in conjunction with universal love and pragmatic decision making? A tough feat, but we are manifesting utopia.
