This Week’s sky - 12/09/24
Joy of Old.
DEC 9 through dec 15
You can enhance your understanding by applying the Houses these signs and Planets are falling into in your Natal Chart. I am happy to help you with figuring that out, at no cost to you— just shoot me an email!!
Neptune Stations Direct: The end of last week, the night of December 7th, Neptune had stopped its retrograde. The emotional and spiritual side of the collective moves forward. The current status of our emotions and spiritual direction become more locked into their current direction.
Mercury Opposition Jupiter: This aspect peaked ‘round midnight November 17th. With Mercury retrograde this perfected again the morning of Wednesday December 4th. After Mercury stations direct and continue forward we will see this aspect perfect for the last time on December 26th. So these dates will tell their own little story. This will be an integral set of dates for the remainder of the year. This aspect is currently much weaker and falls into the background, but colors much of this week, primarily the Full Moon in Gemini.
Through Interpersonal situations and our manners of relating: How do the cultures we reside in impact our logical mind? What messages are we trying to deliver? Sagittarius is a sign which wants to feel autonomous and aware in learning and growth. Gemini is happy to be whisked away by their wonder and other’s guidance. So there is an awkward feeling in this energy of whether we feel in control or not.
Remember to check your Sagittarius and Gemini Houses, which will be opposite each other and thus are two areas of life which directly depend and relate to each other.
Saturn Square Jupiter: The expansion in our Gemini house contests with the solidifying of our Pisces house. On December 21, 2020 we had the Saturn Jupiter conjunction. This Square is the First Quarter Phase of this planetary alignment. The sprouting of seeds started in Dec 2020 is followed up with problem solving now. We had the first square on August 19th, 2024, when Jupiter moved through Gemini. It has since Retrograded, and we will see this aspect perfect on December 24th, 2024. Then we will see the final Saturn Square Jupiter on June 15th, 2024.
Reflect on the relationship between your growth and your longevity. Growth demands we enter into novel areas, and longevity demands will reinforce existing arenas. How are these two parts of life showing conflict? How do they require problem solving and reconciliation? Again, this should be relevant to things that began in December 2020.
The Gemini house is expressed as the teacher/student, the speaker/listener; through communication, channeling, and learning. It is objective, and we are expanding here. Check the relevant house. The Pisces House is expressed as a healer/victim/sick or the artist/artistic observer. The Pisces expression can require solitude, spirituality, or shows signs of escapism or substance use. This Pisces House is experiencing solidification, obstacles, and structure. Check that house as well.
How is responsibility and delay to our emotional healing or artistry conflicting with our search for new knowledge and experience through communication and/or learning?
Mars Opposition Pluto: This aspect stays in the energy signature given Mars has stationed retrograde. This aspect first perfected November 3rd 2024. This aspect will perfect two more times. January 3rd and April 26, 2025. So these dates will tell a story. One of facing power dynamics and self-preservation instincts. We have entered a new form of assertion and willpower in the greater energy system with Pluto entering Aquarius for the next 19 years.
Plutonian matters are often hard to recognize. The point is that they are swept under the rug or taboo. How do you make long-term decisions that preserve your identity and sense of safety? What events have happened to you that altered your psychology and genetics? How do you play mind games or be manipulative? Where does sexuality and other deeper hidden desires direct you? With Mars entering Leo our pride can better protect our emotional sensitivity and keep us focused on the creative process. However, Mars will re-enter Cancer on January 6th, 2025 and lose a tremendous amount of power—though we also lose energy. How does/can your independence help keep you excitable and confident? Given the Mars retrograde we are reconsidering the direction, use, and preservation of our goals and energy.
Venus Conjunct Pluto: This aspect has already peaked and its energy signature fades this week. Our manner of interpersonal exchanging is exposed to varying degrees—and these situations create more opportunity for concealment. Plutonian matters deal with exposing and concealing, so we can see both. Do any relevant events stick out? Is there a general vibe still persisting? Maybe contracts have been redrawn. Maybe some strong honesty has enriched or damaged a relationship. Maybe we are more in touch with what brings us joy.
This will be a conjunction, so the Phase between Venus and Pluto closes and renews. This is a time in which a cycle has reset and we move forward with new intentions. Renewal to factors of relating, pleasure-seeking, and power dynamics within relationships. An exposing of ourselves to others and to ourselves, anew.
This is a good time to explore hidden desires within intimacy and apply personal healing through engaging pleasure. The destructive power of Pluto is experienced with force or acceptance and brings something to the surface. This could be healing, refreshing, or triggering—probably all of it.
We can also see the exposing and concealing of finances. In Aquarius we will see some form of novel equity among the people. Possibly some movement made in the cryptocurrency world that will develop during the following angles Venus will make to Pluto in once Venus enters the other fixed signs [Taurus, Leo, Scorpio] as these correlate with the major moon phases. Cryptocurrency is a futuristic monetary world that exists without as much regulation and can be incredibly shady. It’s perfectly Aquarian, adding Venus for rulership of money, and Pluto for high stakes high population business deals.
Overall, consider how an equitable view of value and love can help us overcome our deepest traumas. Consider how trusting an honest approach to relating will bring your joy to you. Whether it brings you closer to those around you or brings new people entirely. As well, expect the exposing of oneself in these situations in order to overcome these things. This type of event may have already occurred with Venus pushing toward Pluto, but here is where the new intention is made.
Again, Venus will actually enter Aquarius on Saturday December 7th. It will perfect its conjunction to Pluto that morning about 9 AM ET.
Venus Opposition Mars: The aspect will perfect on December 12th in the early evening (EST). With Mars moving backwards and Venus entering Aquarius last week this aspect comes forward with strength— building and peaking this week.
The desire for intellectual stimulation with Venus is at odds with the quick creative action of Mars in Leo. Intimacy and general excitement will come with a need for communication and civility as these planets sit in opposite signs. The opportunity for healing through enjoyment and analysis will have to support our reconsideration of our actions in leadership.
Full Moon in Gemini: Perfecting @ 4AM ET on December 15th. This Full Moon follows up with the Sagittarius New Moon from December 1st. How has that seed culminated now? Lunations are fast transits so they can be incredibly hard to track within the complex human experience.
In this Full Moon we will have to meet with the world with our curiosity and childlike wonder. This inner archetype is illuminated within the body and our mind is drawn toward stimulation. Hopefully we are able to follow that instinct. The ruling planets of [Jupiter and Mercury] of Sagittarius and Gemini are both retrograde so we can expect this Full Moon to really go inward, go backward, involve retrospection, and bring our past. This is a good time to allow yourself to be led by the inner child. Maybe consider your relationship with your siblings.
This full moon has a chance to be disruptive and disorienting. If you allow yourself to be led into an old place you can better bring with you all the lessons and emotional capacities you have learned. The inner child prefers to be openly creative, but is still prone to its tantrums as a result of resistance and attachment.
Mercury Stations Direct: Occurring right at the end of this week during the late afternoon of December 15th. The planet of mental and mundane processing will end its retrograde and begin its two week “post-shadow” period. It will build speed and get us back into the optimal mental operating speed. How have the arrangements and approaches to your Sagittarius house associations shifted? Expect to gradually root into a new familiarity here or feel as though things are getting back to normal.
Additionally, Mercury retrogrades can bring old things back into our lives. These things help remind us of our patterns, suck us back into them, or remind us to transcend them. This Retrograde is more distinct for Mutable placements [Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo, Gemini].
*The date ranges reflect the Moon being a majority in the given sign during a 5am-11:59pm EST range. Moon Signs naturally set each other up for a successful procession through life's subtle developments. The Moon functions as a catalyst and distributor of the energies from the other Celestial bodies.
Moon in Pisces - Dec 9: These Moons are characterized by strong emotional vulnerability that can be intense for some. The Moon will only be in Pisces in the morning.
Moon in Aries - Dec 9-11:These Moons add urgency to the emotional expressions.
Moon in Taurus - Dec 11-13: These Moons crave comfort and can be good for celebration, gathering, decoration, or self-care.
Moon in Gemini - Dec 13-15: These Moon engage and desire for mental stimulation. These are good times for busy work, socializing, exploration. Plan to have extra energy or anxiety. Remember, fatigue is often the result of fear and stuck emotions. Again this is the Full Moon so note that item about fatigue and fear given the inner child work that may come up.
Moon in Cancer - Dec 15: This, the home of the Moon, is best for reset and shedding. I find these Moons to not necessarily be low energy, but they don’t support energetic or physically demanding situations. Plan to take your time.
If we look at something like Joy as a resource then how would we look at acquiring it? Maintaining it? Distributing it? This resource is, of course, linked with the chemicals in the brain. Serotonin primarily. The combination of this reset the Venusian matters of pleasure and connection mixed with the cerebral retrogrades of Jupiter and Mercury speak to the effectiveness of the routine to cultivate happiness. More so, the routines of the inner dialog, interpersonal dialogs, and early experiences in being excited about life.
This week see what happens if you allow yourself to be led in a place of truthful authentic self-awareness. Shame and fear are the primary enemies here, and they are to be fought with the same love and joy you may seek. Mining for joy through sustainable habits which reinforce a cycle of curiosity and stimulation about life. We may get anxious facing growth and change, but moving through these things is always going to boost us. Failure is always temporary; such is life.
