This Week’s sky - 04/28/25
Make Light.
Apr 28 through May 11
You can enhance your understanding by applying the Houses these signs and Planets are falling into in your Natal Chart. I am happy to help you with figuring that out, at no cost to you— just shoot me an email!!
ONGOING TRANSITS:
Saturn Squares Jupiter: This aspect will gradually increase in strength before its exaction mid-June. This will peak after Saturn enters and Jupiter enters Cancer, so the ongoing experience of this transit’s multiple peaking points will end with a dramatic shift into new areas and expressions in our lives. Once we get closer to June and the planets are moving signs we will get into more specifics.
The expansion in our Gemini house contrasts with the solidifying of our Pisces house. On December 21, 2020 we had the Saturn Jupiter conjunction. This Square is the First Quarter Phase of this planetary alignment. The sprouting of seeds started in Dec 2020 is followed up with problem solving now. If you were gardening it would be like in July when you are at steps like ensuring the seedlings stand to survive to harvest; maintaining Tomato trestle structures or looking for early signs of powdery mildew. We had the first square on August 19th, 2024, when Jupiter moved through Gemini. In Jupiter's Retrogradation, we saw this aspect perfect on December 24th, 2024. We will see the final Saturn Square Jupiter on June 15th, 2025.
As this week progresses Mercury will enter Aquarius, and as the ruler of Gemini, Mercury’s movement will shift the nature of Jupiter in Gemini. The expansion of our Gemini house whose nature is objective and carefree will be able to actualize itself within the inventive approach of Aquarius. Jupiter and Mercury will both be in air signs which will provide more harmony between them. This Aquarius energy can better allow Jupiter in Gemini to utilize an objective, open-minded, and social value set. We will go more into Mercury in Aquarius later on.
On the Transit: Reflect on the relationship between your growth and your longevity. Growth demands we enter into novel arenas, and longevity demands will reinforce existing arenas. How are these two parts of life showing conflict? How do they require problem solving and reconciliation? Again, this should be relevant to things that began in December 2020.
The Gemini house is expressed as the teacher/student, the speaker/listener; through communication, channeling, and learning. It is objective, and we are expanding here. We are exploring different perspectives with an objective view. We are allowing ourselves to be aware we are wearing a mask. Check the relevant [Gemini] house. The Pisces House is expressed as a healer/victim/sick or the artist/artistic observer. The Pisces expression can require solitude, spirituality, or shows signs of escapism or substance use. This Pisces House is experiencing solidification, obstacles, and structure. Check that house as well.
How are responsibilities to our emotional healing causing delays or obstructions ? Or is channeled artistic expression conflicting with our search for new knowledge and experience through communication and/or learning? As Jupiter rules Pisces what we are discovering is how adopting specific attitudes toward growth despite their can help us resist falling into the need to escape life’s realities. We create our own reality, so why should we have to escape?
Saturn-Uranus Sextile: During this two week period Saturn and Uranus will further separate, and at the end of the week move beyond a perceptible strength for this aspect: We will be able to better reconstruct under the support purview of the “old ways”. Like having an elder over the shoulder as we continue through the lifetime journey of self-liberation that is our duty and birthright. There will still be this sense that as things break down they are able to come together with a bit more grace than usual. So the jarring experiences are still there, but most people will find a safety net there.
Mars-Pluto Opposition: This aspect perfected last week and fades slowly this week. Our short term, acute goal-orientation, and sense of action is feeling strong and self-motivated. In contrast with the long-term deep psyche’s self-preservation mechanism which is steeped in fear and trauma. We must reconcile meeting our goals with ethics. We must reconcile opposing goals in our lives. Maybe we are aware that there are greater forces keeping us from our personal goals. Maybe our fears and compulsions are keeping us from making achievements and advancements.
There are conversations about dismantling the unruly economic mess of late-stage American Capitalism and replacing it with something designed for communities and collectives; lest we see America truly fall into the blatant hands of the right-wing fascists enabled by passive and orderly neo-liberals. There is pressure on the Left to start fighting dirty back, but that would require a more dire situation. 😅
There is worry about meeting our needs within this transition of power. We have personal and collective “odds” about whether we should trust community living or try to get on top while we still have rights. So on a personal level, consider what you need in order to express yourself, and if you can unlock a higher level of authenticity through empowerment. Consider if your sense of financial and emotional security is worth the confines to your expressive and impulsive freedom.
NEW TRANSITS:
Venus Re-Enters Aries: On April 30 @ 1:15 PM EST Venus will re-enter Aries. Venus entered Aries on February 4th and retrograded back into Pisces on March 28th— we may recall some themes and subjects occurring between those two dates. Reviewing possessions, partnerships, and wellbeing on the basis that they should align with the identity and goals. Venus does not function well in Aries. Venus is meant to appreciate and connect, where Aries is utilitarian and competitive. We will have to gather our arousal manually and use our energy efficiently. We may find our energy is more sudden. We will view our “stuff” with a utilitarian eye and more self-centeredness.
Venus Conjunct Neptune: As Venus enters Aries it immediately joins Neptune. This conjunction is already tight at the beginning of this week, and perfects May 2 about 1PM EST. This Venus ingress into Aries will make the aspect much more distinct. Idealization of our pleasurable experiences. Both the potential to further plunge us into escapism or refine our relationship to our relationship with sensory experiences. In Aries we connect with our identity, willpower, and instincts. A primal and instinctually driven connection to self will inspire a relationship to pleasure-seeking, desires, self-care, our values, money, possessions, and aesthetic preferences. This will be a New Moon rebirth for the Venus-Neptune planetary cycle. There is a deep intention setting for these themes and we should thoroughly consider “Who am I?”. Specifically in relation to what we own or what we are possessive over. How we make ourselves feel good and whether this is healthy maintenance of the body or escapism and self-numbing. What inspires us and what aesthetics arouse us. This transit proposes the ever important value of putting yourself first. Whatever habits and possessions you pick up by May 2nd will be aligned with Who you believe yourself to be.
Mercury Conjunct Chiron: The planet of logic and movement will align with the asteroid Chiron, the Wounded Healer. Perfecting May 6 9:47 PM EST. Our thoughts can be imbued with memories of past wounding. We may find some somberness. Contemplation of our wounds. As the nervous system, ruled by Mercury, lines up with this asteroid ruling our Wounded Nature, the internal communications of the body consider self-worth, victimhood, and whether we can meet the demands and standards around us.
In Aries, this comes with themes of willpower and the ability to listen to our instincts. This is a great time to support our routines and mental patterns in a way that boosts self-worth by aligning with our instincts. In moments of self-doubt what do we reach for solace? How can we ensure we are taking healthier approaches to mental wellbeing? Look out for headaches, overstimulation, and overcompensation. There is the chance for compensatory behavior leading to injury.
Placements between 22-27˚ of the Cardinal [Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn] will be struck the hardest by this transit.
Mercury Enters Taurus: On May 10th @ 8:15 AM EST, a planet of agility will enter a sign of pace. Effectively slowing mercury down, but with good intention. When we slow down we can take time to really observe, which is what Mercury is all about. The logical mind may be more influenced by wants and needs. So the body can communicate more directly, although things like cravings may take a stronger hold on us. We may shape our routines around optimizing comfort more than usual. Mercury is here until May 25th. As the ruler of Taurus is Venus, which is in the impulsive Aries, we may find the comfort zone more demanding as it influences the logical mind and habitual nature.
Jupiter Pushing into the Nodal Bends: Jupiter will reach this 90˚ angle with the transiting Eclipse Points on May 18th, around 11AM EST.
Our beliefs, cultural conditioning, and perspectives will trigger the Nodal axis. With Jupiter in Gemini, we have been accumulating a variety of knowledge and experiences, but square the Nodes, we are presented with a challenge. Are we conducting real growth or just acquiring knowledge? Mutable signs often face a problem of excessive running away or putting off. We might be gaining these experiences and/or this knowledge in order to appease someone, satisfy ourselves temporarily, or distract ourselves. Are we avoiding the real changes we need to make?
With the Virgo South Node we are prompted to release perfectionism and excessive detail-focus. This fussiness distracts from the path forward represented by the Pisces North Node. Surrender, compassion, trust, and embracing the intangible.
We experience a crisis of belief and hope it leads to an epiphany. The veil of subjective truths is exposed, and our beliefs are contested. Does our mindset lead us toward growth or further fragmentation? At some point words fail and we must simply listen to our feelings and our bodies. Look towards the unexplainable. The Intuition. Allow yourself to be whisked away into belief, in compassion, and choose your truth without fear, perfectionism, shame, or disingenuousness.
This aspect will be much more distinct for those with placements between 23-27˚ of the Mutable signs [Gemini, Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius].
*The date ranges reflect the Moon being a majority in the given sign during a 5am-11:59pm EST range. Moon Signs naturally set each other up for a successful procession through life's subtle developments. The Moon functions as a catalyst and distributor of the energies from the other Celestial bodies. You might take an extra note of when the Moon is entering important Houses in your Chart, like your First House/Rising Sign when you will be closely connected with your emotions.
Moon in Taurus - Apr 28: The exaltation, second home, of the Moon. We can align with comfort and self-care easier during these days. This Taurus Moon is part of a New Moon, and we will be more deeply attuned to pleasure and homeostasis with mind and body.
Moon in Gemini - Apr 29-20: These Moons are very stimulating and are good days for errands. Good days for communicating with the emotions in play. There is the sense that we should let ourselves be led by instincts and emotions through the day. Or that we are more likely to be whisked away by them.
Moon in Cancer - May 1-2: The Moon returns to her abode, where emotion shedding and consolidation are optimal. We can let go, come together, snuggle, and attune to the ancestors. We may find ourselves stimulated by the needs of others and nurturing instincts.
Moon in Leo - May 3-5: On the third the Moon will be tighter to Mars, and we should be wary of inflammation or inflammatory behavior. In Leo, this will more likely look like boasting or arrogance. Overconfidence leading to mistakes, or at best impressive heroism inspired by care. Overall, Leo Moons warrant nurturing instinct through supporting the inner child. These are better for prioritizing fun, confidence, and positivity despite quality or ethics.
This will be the First Quarter moon phase following the Taurus New Moon. We will face problems solving as a result of the intentions and beginnings started during the Taurus New Moon from April 27th.
Moon in Virgo - May 5-7: We may likely feel compelled to more criticism. We will compel ourselves and each other toward task accomplishment by way of more urgent criticism. Though at this time the South Node is in Virgo, and especially upon the 7th, the fussiness of perfectionism or harsh criticism will receive its own criticism directly or not.
Moon in Libra - May 8-10: As air moons go, there is more social demand. Libra Moons will have us seeking to connect and can be optimal for social events. With a lot going on in Aries we might find these days a bit demanding, but potentially worthwhile in terms of personal enjoyment. The thing is, with Venus in Aries, we could be too into ourselves and thus, harder to arouse.
Moon in Scorpio - May 10-11: Scorpio Moons can be invigorating. The Moon is considered to operate poorly in Scorpio, but for 2.5 days I personally think they are necessary for digging into our emotional bodies more deeply. These days are good for purging and cleansing. May 12 will be a Full Moon, and the days prior will bring stimulation on the basis of possession, possessiveness, and what we hold onto.
Light, warmth, vision, creation. Make light, and make light of life. It’s a serious thing, but it’s not that serious. You know?
We are finally coming into the warm season in this hemisphere, and with that the planets are entering fire signs, without retrograding. You will continue to feel your energy gather. With Venus and Aries and Mars in Leo we will have to settle for more sudden bursts of energy. Allow yourself to be energized and inspired by your own creative vision and instincts. Expect the world to be a bit more self-centered, focused on action, and courageous. Expect a more guerrilla approach to productivity and some tunnel-vision tendencies. When Mercury enters Taurus the nervous system becomes a bit more focused on staying comfortable, but Venus in Aries will offer less energy to attain comfort and pace. Thus there will be irritation between sweet thoughts and bitter circumstances.
This week you should ultimately be focused on pinpointing the identity and your goals. What are you drawn to? Why? Is this good for you? What are your goals? Do your possessions and habits make sense in conjunction with your goals?
We are moving through these Pisces, Aries, and now Taurus themes gradually. Pisces alters the identity through better or worse illusions; better or worse mental health; loss for better or worse. Aries claims an identity and strives toward ownership through instinctual action. Taurus listens to the body and goes with what’s natural with pace. Now more planets are moving into Taurus and the focus on stability will be a growing theme in our minds. Saturn and Neptune will still be dancing in between Aries and Pisces into 2026.
The universe knows exactly who you believe yourself to be. So you must be specific about how you are defining yourself. If you want more money in your life you can’t wish for more money. You must believe you already live in a cycle of abundance. Otherwise you manifest a life of craving more money. See the difference? This can’t just be stated, it must be believed. You must live in gratitude with a creative vision to fulfill, then the universe will bring the resources toward you.
