Window Pains

DEC 30 through jan 05

You can enhance your understanding by applying the Houses these signs and Planets are falling into in your Natal Chart. I am happy to help you with figuring that out, at no cost to you— just shoot me an email!!

Despite successive week’s having repeated paragraph’s they are good to reaffirm and review as the events and timing unfold. Also, do not scan so fast you miss the new transits layered in, as I try to arrange these transits chronologically.

Venus Square Uranus: This aspect peaked on Saturday, December 28th about 2:30 AM EST. This energy of this transit will diminish this week; dropping off in perceptibility the night of January 2nd when Venus enters Pisces. Venus' offering an indulgence to our Aquarius House creates tension with the restructuring of society's comfort zone. Venus in Aquarius puts forward more attempts to appeal to larger groups of people; like advertising for the Holidays. Since we are making Uranian restructurings to people’s comfort zones we can take this example. The still relatively new social paradigm to be considerate of what Holiday someone celebrates. This aspect is like the problem people had with Starbucks holiday cups saying “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”. The phrasing is a social restructuring of the comfort zone. We address a more general portion of society more equitably (Aquarius), and disturb the comfort zone of more traditional folk (Taurus). Now every year around this time this aspect has been happening. We get near Aquarius Season and Venus stays close to the Sun at all times; while Uranus has been in Taurus since 2018. We should see similar situations personally and publicly. How can you find more comfort through the transcendence of your own egoic social responses? How humility helps us avoid egoic suffering.

Since this transit has been repeating in these signs for several years now it does seem the tension for its manifestations was much lower this year. I personally felt little commotion around the customs of holiday greetings.

Mercury Opposition Jupiter: This aspect first peaked ‘round midnight November 17th. Then perfected again the morning of Wednesday December 4th—and perfected for the last time on December 26th. So these dates should tell their own little story. This energy will have dissipated by the end of the week.

Through interpersonal situations and our manners of relating: How do the cultures we reside in impact our logical mind? What messages are we trying to deliver? Sagittarius is a sign which wants to feel autonomous and aware in learning and growth. Gemini is happy to be whisked away by their wonder and other’s guidance. So there is an awkward feeling in this energy of whether we feel in control or not.

Remember to check your Sagittarius and Gemini Houses, which will be opposite each other and thus are two areas of life which directly depend and relate to each other. Inevitably an old belief which guides our daily life is left behind and we should have adapted for more curiosity and joy.

Saturn Square Jupiter: The expansion in our Gemini house contests with the solidifying of our Pisces house. On December 21, 2020 we had the Saturn Jupiter conjunction. This Square is the First Quarter Phase of this planetary alignment. The sprouting of seeds started in Dec 2020 is followed up with problem solving now. If you were gardening it would be like in July when you are at steps like ensuring the seedlings stand to survive to harvest; maintaining Tomato trestle structures or looking for early signs of powdery mildew.  We had the first square on August 19th, 2024, when Jupiter moved through Gemini. In Jupiter's Retrogradation, we saw this aspect perfect on December 24th, 2024. We will see the final Saturn Square Jupiter on June 15th, 2025. As this week progresses Mercury will lose its angular (degree-based) influence on this aspect, but will remain influential over Jupiter since it rules the sign of Gemini, where Jupiter currently is.

Reflect on the relationship between your growth and your longevity. Growth demands we enter into novel arenas, and longevity demands will reinforce existing arenas. How are these two parts of life showing conflict? How do they require problem solving and reconciliation? Again, this should be relevant to things that began in December 2020.

The Gemini house is expressed as the teacher/student, the speaker/listener; through communication, channeling, and learning. It is objective, and we are expanding here. We are exploring different perspectives with an objective view. We are allowing ourselves to be aware we are wearing a mask. Check the relevant [Gemini] house. The Pisces House is expressed as a healer/victim/sick or the artist/artistic observer. The Pisces expression can require solitude, spirituality, or shows signs of escapism or substance use. This Pisces House is experiencing solidification, obstacles, and structure. Check that house as well.

How are responsibilities to our emotional healing causing delays or obstructions ? Or is channeled artistic expression conflicting with our search for new knowledge and experience through communication and/or learning? As Jupiter rules Pisces what we are discovering is how adopting specific attitudes toward growth despite their can help us resist falling into the need to escape life’s realities. We create our own reality, so why should we have to escape?

New Moon in Capricorn: This New Moon will see us set an intention in our Capricorn House. A place in which we require long term stability and pragmatic approaches. Consider what new devotions you have made to your familial units and how they root you deeply into the structure of your life. How have your ongoing devotions shifted? With Saturn in Pisces we will actualize this intention toward structure through spiritual practice, physical sensitivities (like allergies), escapist tendencies, creative efforts, or emotional boundaries.

Mercury Square Neptune: This aspect begins building at the beginning of this week and will peak the morning of Monday, January 6th. The mind is compelled to consider illusions and the principle of universal love. A good example of this are the frustrations of propaganda. Propaganda can compel us to consider whether our values are good. Be wary of vague promises/claims and appeals to your emotions, but be mindful of your own beliefs. Maybe you do need to be challenged, maybe tricks are being played. This can also look more medical/physiological with something like allergies being triggered. Less about insidious ideas, but insidious atmosphere in general.

Venus Enters Pisces: The constellation of Pisces is composed of two fish swimming in opposite directions. These fish are the Greek Gods Eros and Aphrodite (Roman: Cupid & Venus) who turned into fish to escape the Typhon. So Venus likes to be in Pisces and it can operate well in this sign. The Venusian significations of love and artistry is strong in Pisces. An empowered Venus will offer us more arousal and desire for connection and pleasurable experience. This may challenge the ongoing sobering transit of Saturn in Pisces and we should be wary of indulgences. An increase in arousal must be channeled into more purifying habits. Enforce your healthy daily rituals and the compounding of loving kindness through the cosmos. Venus will be in Pisces until February 4th.

Mars Opposition Pluto: This aspect stays in the energy signature given Mars has stationed retrograde. This aspect first perfected November 3rd 2024. This aspect will perfect two more times. January 3rd when Mars is retrograde and April 26, 2025 after Mars goes Direct again. So these dates will tell a story. One of facing power dynamics and self-preservation instincts. We have entered a new form of assertion and willpower in the greater energy system with Pluto entering Aquarius for the next 19 years.

Plutonian matters are often hard to recognize. The point is that they are swept under the rug or taboo. How do you make long-term decisions that preserve your identity and sense of safety? What events have happened to you that altered your psychology and genetics? How do you play mind games or be manipulative? Where does sexuality and other deeper hidden desires direct you? With Mars entering Leo our pride can better protect our emotional sensitivity and keep us focused on the creative process. However, Mars will re-enter Cancer on January 6th, 2025 and lose a tremendous amount of power—though we also lose energy. How does/can your independence help keep you excitable and confident? Given the Mars retrograde we are reconsidering the direction, use, and preservation of our goals and energy.

*The date ranges reflect the Moon being a majority in the given sign during a 5am-11:59pm EST range. Moon Signs naturally set each other up for a successful procession through life's subtle developments. The Moon functions as a catalyst and distributor of the energies from the other Celestial bodies.

Moon in Capricorn - Dec 30: These Moons are colder and present more emotional objectivity. These Moons are better for rugged environments, but can allow one to be realistic about their emotional world and tap into a darkness— for better or worse.

Moon in Aquarius - Jan 1-3: Akin to the Capricorn Moon realism and coldness, though Aquarius Moons are more sociable. These Moons are good for more social and intellectual affairs than domestic and work affairs. We may be able to better bring together the mind with the creative inspiration our emotional world offers us.

Moon in Pisces - Jan 3-5: Creating a vulnerable environment, Pisces Moons can be purifying or toxifying to our emotional world so it is important to be protected during these Moons if necessary. Wearing something like amethyst or black tourmaline. This Moon will enter Pisces right after Venus enters and thus the presence of this planetary shift will be stronger than usual. This could be lovely and/or overwhelming with Venus and the Moon together so quickly in Pisces.

Moon in Aries - Jan 5: The Moon enters Aries about halfway into January 5th, presenting us with a fiery end to the week. Aries Moons create more impulse and urgency.

Many of the themes this week are carried over from the last month. This week many themes of illusion come up. When does perception become self-deception? We are still reconsidering our orientation and direction in life with Mars and Jupiter retrograde. This week requires the matter-of-factness of Virgo to help bring balance. So be aware of informational manipulation and your own self-delusions.

It’s important we remain connected to goodness. Blame isn’t ever really helpful. Whatever information we hear and ideas we are getting needs to be given a review under the principle of mindfulness and kindness. For instance, propaganda that is divisive in any capacity. Our society needs unity and points purely made against a demographic at this point aren’t going to be helpful.

We certainly can communicate and think relative to our biases while being aware of projection and becoming angry at each other. So this week we will see more of that contention between different schools of thought. You are looking through the lens of your emotions regardless and it will always take active awareness to be mindful.
