Continued From Last Week:
Mars, Sun, Pluto T-Square: The Square from the Sun to Pluto peaks on October 22 at 29˚. Mars adds assertion and haste to the mix, but is a few degrees away at 25˚. To reiterate: Plutonian matters are often hard to recognize. The point is that they are swept under the rug or taboo. How do you make long-term decisions that preserve your identity and sense of safety? What events have happened to you that altered your psychology and genetics? How do you play mind games or be manipulative? Where does sexuality and other deeper hidden desires direct you? Mars in Cancer; Pluto in Capricorn. We contend with preservation of long-term stability, meeting our needs, and feeling secure within our various relationships. Parental themes may come into play. The Sun in Libra adds the stress of personal indulgences, indecisiveness, and changing expectations to this manner. There is a manner of concealing and exposing behaviors. There is temptation. Sometimes there is so much energy you actually become tired. For me, if I drink too much coffee it seems to have the opposite effect, but in a way where I also couldn’t take a nap if I needed to. If there is something you want, there are steps to be taken. Are my desires justified or the result of unexamined dissatisfaction? What compromises to our lives are we making now? Are life shifts worth the shake up? What are the risks at hand? Pluto will enter Aquarius on November 15th, where it will not enter back into Capricorn till it goes around the Zodiac again. So this is truly the end of something significant. More distinct for Cardinal placements [Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn], especially those with late degrees from 20˚-29˚ They are still experiencing more distinct transformative events. As well, Fixed Signs [Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius] go fully into the experience of Pluto since it will remain in Aquarius till March 8, 2043; 19 years.
Mercury Trine Saturn: This aspect peaks on the morning of Oct 22. Mercury in Scorpio imports a sharp mental acuity to the seriousness going with Saturn in our Pisces House. We may feel inclined, but not compelled, to communicate efficiently and effectively or with reserve.
Neptune Trine Mars: This aspect peaks the morning of October 28th; right after this week ends. Neptune continues to import some illusory or highly empathetic energy toward action. So be sure not to get blinded in your actions and to take action with the intuition strongly considered.
This Week:
Venus Squares Saturn: This aspect builds this week and peaks early next week. Our arousals, desire for connection and pleasure, with Venus in Sagittarius are more excitable and more open-minded. Seeking novel experience or excitement may be stifled this week. An extra ounce of responsibility will help us achieve our desires, though it’s unlikely in the face of all the covert intensities this week. Once Mars enters Leo, taking action will become easier.
Sun Enters Scorpio; Scorpio Season: The Sun enters Scorpio October 22nd, and we enter the middle of autumn. We are at the peak of Dry and Cold autumnal temperament. Brittleness and stiffness have begun to inhabit the Northern Hemisphere. Scorpio season aligns with many of these energies we are experiencing with the Outer planet aspects like Mars and Pluto. Though, with the Sun in Scorpio the hope is that the descent into the darkness will be given a guiding light. We need some clarity and honesty; at least with ourselves. The Scorpio house in our chart is somewhere we have felt betrayal and often the loss of autonomy (to more or less severity). This is a house which is strongly protected. So allow yourself to acknowledge, without judgment, the steps you take to ease your psyche. With Scorpio’s planetary ruler, Mars, is in Cancer we are reminded that like Crabs, Scorpions also molt their exoskeletons. So there is a chance for release in this time period. To be truthful to yourself about your defenses allows you to better achieve your desires and shape life for your truth and not for your resentments and fears.
Mercury Opposition Uranus: This aspect builds in strength this week and peaks next week. Unexpected messages or communication. Nervous energy becomes more volatile. The sudden movement of resources. The sudden stirring of our security. Somatic shifts from deep within. Rebellious speech on behalf of the marginalized or the parts of us which feel marginalized.
Mars Trine Mercury: This aspect will build this week, peaking at 29˚ on November 2nd. Trines create a flowing energy which does not offer tension, but is constant. Mars offers assertion for mental acuity and communication. There should be energy coming from the emotional/watery body. The liquid in the body may move faster. So body language and energetic communication can really come into play here. This aspect should help us have conversations, particularly with ourselves, that should happen.
Venus Opposition Jupiter: This aspect begins building in strength at the end of this week. Venus and Jupiter are the benefics, they offer positivity, pleasure, and increase. This can happen in excess creating problems. With these planets in opposition we can see interpersonal situations which are decidedly positive. One party must represent each planet, and in the dreamscape of life, these roles switch in that highly abstract manner. As this aspect grows in strength there is more compulsion to follow our desires. They seem to offer us pleasure and fortune, though more likely we exchange one for the other or represent one for the other. Dreamscape. In the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius there are themes of learning, traveling, exploring, or spiritual elevation. The positions of the other relevant planets will not support a very good version of this aspect.
*The date ranges reflect the Moon being a majority in the given sign during a 5am-11:59pm EST range. Moon Signs naturally set each other up for a successful procession through life's subtle developments. The Moon functions as a catalyst and distributor of the energies from the other Celestial bodies.
Moon in Gemini - Oct 21: This Moon is chatty and has the emotional body communicate with us. Listen with more than your ears.
Moon in Cancer - Oct 21-23: The home of the Moon where we can reset ourselves and let go. Mars will be in late Cancer, so the later days will bode inflammation. Molting may be more like burning off.
Moon in Leo - Oct 24-26: Leo Moons support protection of the emotions by focusing on the positive. Leo Moon accentuates the side of Leo which seeks to offer confidence and positivity to others as Leo seeks for itself.
Moon in Virgo - Oct 26-27: Virgo Moons create a need for busy work in order to rest the emotional body. These Moons are always good for a tedious project. This Moon may offer an awkward tension within a good situation.
I will not lie, the planets are not lining up for the best Spooky Season. There is so much old baggage (or something similar) to air out first. We must release into this season with the intention of starting better cycles than we had in the past.
Divinatory practitioners seem to constantly be saying “This is a transformative time of release and letting go” regardless of the event. This is actually that time. Most of our suffering is in fear and anticipation rather than in the act of facing them. Go forth.
